Dutch and Ron were married on Saturday, May 20, 2017, in their beautiful backyard in Charlotte, NC. They have worked together for 9 years and been together romantically for 4 years, so this was a very relaxed, joyful day. Oh my gosh, what a sweet wedding! Dutch got ready at her friend's house across the street- soooo much laughing at funny stories I can't repeat here! Dutch's 3-year-old granddaughter was so adorable that I just had to have a mini-photo shoot with her twirling in her pretty dress. Ron had made his own bourbon especially for a special toast to the men in his life. Their ceremony was Christ-centered, with enthusiastic support from family and friends. What a sentimental wedding with lots of personal touches!
Dutch wrote this wonderful review on Wedding Wire. I thought it perfectly describes WHY I'm a photographer so I'm sharing it here:
"First....I hate to have my picture taken. A combination of previous double jaw surgery which left my lower face a bit different and still numb from nerve damage and the whole mid 50's aging and weight thing, left me terrified of having a picture taken. In fact, I have avoided them for 10 years. I also don't like a lot of posed photos. When asked what I wanted I said that it was most important to capture the emotion of the event. She absolutely nailed it! I can't stop looking at the photos. She did great at taking photos while not being obtrusive. Many candid shots and I in many cases didn't even know she was there taking a picture. I will shout out her praises and not only recommend her fervently, but will also use her again. But the greatest thing she did for me was to give me the gift of looking at a picture of myself and being able to smile at it! Priceless!"
Congratulations, Dutch and Ron! Much love to you both!
